Transport

• Try to use public transport when possible, why not take the bus, train, walk or cycle to see the sights.

Local Produce

• Support food outlets that sell local produce. Food that is imported is a major contributor to carbon emissions through 'food miles'.
• Why not check out the local farmers' market or craft markets.

Water

Don't waste it and use it wisely. Reusing can help reduce the potential impacts such as the threat to local wetland habitats.

How about:-

• Washing/peeling vegetables in a bowl, not under running water.
• Not overfilling the kettle - boil only what you need.
• Not leaving the tap running when cleaning your teeth.
• Taking short showers rather than baths.
• Making sure all taps are turned fully off and report leakages.

Recycling

• There are many local facilities so make use of them. Paper, card, glass, cans, textiles, even compost can be reused.
