INDEPENDENT INSURANCE SERVICES WINS ‘BUSINESS COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY’ AWARD
Independent Insurance Services won the ‘Business Commitment to the Community’ award at the recent Channel Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala held at The Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone.
Since being established in 1991, Independent Insurance Services has grown from strength to strength and is committed to its staff and to Shepway and this has been recognised by the Channel Chamber.
Ray Johnson, Proprietor, commented:
“We have won many awards but we had not won a local business award, so we were thrilled to receive this that recognises our involvement and support within the local community”.
Chief awards judge, Lesley Finlay, commented:
“As well as thinking about the environment, with stringent recycling policies and even a product to encourage green thinking, it buys locally and raises impressive amounts for charity”.
The company also organises Folkestone’s Half Marathon event that supports many charities. A lot of Ray’s and his staff’s time has been spent to help organise other events in the local area.
Independent Insurance Services hopes to continue to receive recognition for its commitment, not only to the local community and staff, but also to the environment. They also encourage staff to walk to work whenever possible, provide fresh fruit on a daily basis and also hold regular outings for its staff, such as bowling and a dinner at Leeds Castle.
