As brokers we are constantly striving to provide the best service to our clients, and one area which not only causes our clients day to day problems, but also greatly affects their “insurability” is Health and Safety. As a result many brokers, in order to fulfil their responsibility to their customers, have tried to provide advice and find support services to help them meet the significant legal requirements imposed on them by this complex area of legislation.

Unfortunately, the increasing growth and complexity of the law has been accompanied by a proliferation of consultancies offering varying degrees of support, and while many of these organisations also provide a useful Employment Law service (another area of significant commercial risk) the hugely differing costs and quality of service make it very difficult to find the right supplier; after all, the last thing we need is for a client to be unhappy with a service we have recommended.

Under these circumstances, Independent Insurance Services are happy to announce our association with Lighthouse, an eminent organisation bringing a refreshingly positive approach to the minefield areas of health & safety and employment law. Their services are well priced, extremely user-friendly and they have the flexibility to meet individual customer requirements.

The services cover two main areas, Health & Safety and Employment Law, both areas being supported by a comprehensive Legal Expenses Indemnity. The aim is to effectively provide our clients with their own in-house Human Resource, Health & Safety and Legal Departments.

The Lighthouse service was conceived with the Insurance Broker’s point of view in mind and, uniquely, combines a Human Resource service provided by practising solicitors with top quality Health and Safety management which provides “hands on” help with those problem areas such as Risk Assessments, Training, and the all important Competent Person roll.
